Four-star wing Tounde Yessoufou has referred to Kentucky as his “dream school“. Later this summer, he’ll make a trip to Lexington to see exactly what the Wildcats have to offer.

According to On3’s Joe Tipton, Yessoufou will take an official visit to UK on either August 1 or 2. A 6-foot-5, 210-pound native of Benin in West Africa, Yessoufou is ranked No. 21 overall in the 2025 class by the On3 Industry Ranking and has been on Mark Pope‘s radar since the spring. Although the St. Joseph High School (CA) product has yet to receive a scholarship from Pope and his staff, there is plenty of mutual interest between the two sides.

Yessoufou has already taken an official visit to Arizona earlier this month and will be on Southern California’s campus this weekend for his second official. Tipton says “Kentucky is making up ground quickly.”

Yessoufou made a name for himself during the spring on the Nike EYBL circuit for Team WhyNot. Through 11 games, he averaged 21.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 blocks in 24.5 minutes per outing. He shot 56 percent overall, 31 percent from deep, and 82.1 percent from the line. Yessoufou was also named co-MVP of the Top 30 Game at the Pangos All-American Camp in Las Vegas earlier this month.

With a 10-5 record, Team WhyNot has qualified for the 2024 Peach Jam championship set for July 13-21 in North Augusta, SC. Expect plenty of Kentucky’s coaches on the sidelines to watch Yessoufou (among other recruiting targets) in action.

“That was my dream school when I came to the United States. I definitely wanted an offer from Coach (John Calipari), but he’s obviously gone,” he told KSR last month. “I’ve heard about Coach Pope, and he’s definitely got great energy. Just from FaceTiming him, you can tell he has amazing energy. I love being around coaches like that. Kentucky is a great program — for me, it’s top-10 in the country, definitely. With his history — you know, he used to play over there — so he brings a lot.”

With an official visit to Lexington on the way, don’t be surprised if Yessoufou earns a scholarship from the Wildcats in the near future.
