Mark Stoops’ 2024 recruiting class is currently among the top 25 best in the country. Kentucky ranks 22nd overall and 10th in the talent-rich Southeastern Conference according to On3. The Wildcats added a couple of key pieces over the last two weeks, putting this group at 23 commits with the early signing period beginning roughly one month from now.

On Monday, our friends at On3 updated their player rankings for the 2024 cycle. Following a massive leap from CB Quaysheed Scott, who went from a low-level three-star to a bonafide four-star prospect, Kentucky now has five commits ranked among the On300. This was On3’s first update since September and the fifth of this cycle.

Before we dive into the details in one of the final recruiting updates of the year, a message from our friends at Monticello Bank.

Updated On3 Recruiting Rankings

Unfortunately, three of those five commits saw significant drops in their individual rankings, most notably EDGE Brian Robinson and QB Cutter Boley, who both fell over 95 spots on the list. Also of note, On3 considers LB Elijah Groves and WR Hardley Gilmore as four-star prospects, although they did not crack the top 300 this time around.

Terhyon Nichols (CB) 5-11, 185 | Withrow (Cincinnati, OH)
4-star: No. 87 overall, No. 11 CB | previously No. 115 (+28)

  • Terhyon Nichols was one of Kentucky’s biggest recruiting wins of this cycle. Associate head coach Vince Marrow pulled off the victory by going into familiar territory. The Ohio product chose UK over the likes of Michigan and Penn State. Nichols is the first consensus top 300 defensive back to pick the Wildcats in the Stoops era.

Cutter Boley (QB) 6-5, 200 | Lexington Christian Academy (Hodgenville, KY)
4-star: No. 206 overall, No. 14 QB | previously No. 110 (-104)

  • Cutter Boley was another huge recruiting win for Kentucky, even if he is an in-state prospect out of southern KY. Once he transferred to Lexington Christian Academy, his recruitment was all but locked up, giving Kentucky a legitimate four-star quarterback they can develop into a future multi-year starter down the road. Tennessee and Michigan were heavily recruiting Boley before he landed with the ‘Cats.

Brian Robinson (EDGE) 6-5, 250 | Westerville North (Austintown, OH)
4-star: No. 248 overall, No. 27 EDGE | previously No. 150 (-98)

  • Brian Robinson might be the biggest recruiting pull of all five though. His recruitment was drawn out longer than expected, but he ultimately committed to UK last month over the likes of Maryland, Michigan, Penn State, and Tennessee. His longstanding relationship with Vince Marrow sealed the deal in the end.

Quaysheed Scott (CB) 6-0, 185 | Marion (Marion, SC)
4-star: No. 291 overall, No. 29 CB | previously unranked

  • Quaysheed Scott has been steadily rising up the rankings all throughout his senior season, but On3 took the leap by being the first to plug him in as a four-star. He originally committed to Kentucky as a prospect outside the top 1,000. His impressive play on the field for Marion this season has skyrocketed his ranking though. Scott’s home state school, South Carolina, continues to put pressure on flipping him. This situation will be one to monitor until he officially signs on the dotted line.

Aba Selm (IOL) 6-4, 295 | Simon Kenton (Independence, KY)
4-star: No. 295 overall, No. 18 IOL | previously No. 273 (-22)

  • Aba Selm has quietly held firm in the On300 for multiple updates now. On3 is the only major recruiting service to tab him as a four-star recruit and they’ve remained consistent with that assessment. Like Boley, Selm is a homegrown recruit. He received some real interest from the Florida Gators until UK shut that down over the summer. Selm was the second commit for Kentucky in this cycle, choosing the ‘Cats all the way back in February.
