5-star 2025 PF Chris Cenac includes Kentucky in Top 12
Another day, another top-ranked recruit including Kentucky in his group of finalists. This time around, it’s Chris Cenac.
As first reported by On3’s Joe Tipton on Friday afternoon, Cenac has cut his list down to a Top 12. Joining Kentucky are Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Houston, Louisville, LSU, Michigan State, Tennessee, Texas, and UConn. A 6-foot-10 power forward out of New Orleans, Cenac is rated as a five-star and the No. 13 overall prospect from the 2025 recruiting class, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
According to Tipton, Cenac has yet to schedule any official visits and has a commitment date tentatively set for January or February. He’s taken two previous unofficial visits to LSU and Houston.
After starting his high school career at Isidore Newman (LA), Cenac announced his transfer to Link Academy (MO) for his senior season in June. He first caught the eye of Kentucky associate head coach Alvin Brooks in May on the Puma NXTPro circuit and then again at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in June. Cenac was named MVP of the camp and soon added an offer from the Wildcats.

“Mark Pope would love him. He’s the type of player Mark Pope loves,” Kevin Saunders, Cenac’s AAU program director, told KSR+. “Knowing how Mark likes to play, he’ll probably run the offense through him. The good thing about it is that he’s such a good basketball player that he makes his teammates better.”
It’s been a breakout summer for Cenac, who has hauled in two dozen offers just since April. He also suited for Team USA at the FIBA U17 World Cup earlier this summer, which ended with him taking home a gold medal. Cenac averaged 8.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per outing for the Americans across seven games played.
The next step? Getting him on campus for an official visit this fall.
