5-star PF Chris Cenac schedules official visit to Kentucky
Another five-star prospect will make his way to Lexington later this month.
According to On3’s Joe Tipton, class of 2025 power forward Chris Cenac has scheduled an official visit to Kentucky for the weekend of September 27. Cenac will be joined in Lexington by 6-foot-3 point guard Mikel Brown, who is also a five-star recruit. The Kentucky football team will host No. 6 Ole Miss on Saturday, Sept. 28.
“Kentucky has a great past reputation,” Cenac told Jacob Polacheck of KSR+ in August. “With them having a new head coach, I’m looking forward to seeing what they do this season.”
The 6-foot-10 Cenac is considered the No. 13 overall high school senior in the country by the On3 Industry Ranking. He’ll take additional official visits this fall to Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU. Houston hosted him for an OV over the weekend. Members of the UK coaching staff will visit him in person later this week.
In early August, Cenac announced that he cut his list down to a dozen options: Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Houston, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Michigan State, Tennessee, Texas, and UConn. Both LSU and Houston have previously hosted him for unofficial visits, as well.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
After starting his high school career at Isidore Newman (LA), Cenac announced his transfer to Link Academy (MO) for his senior season in June. He first caught the eye of Kentucky associate head coach Alvin Brooks in May on the Puma NXTPro circuit and then again at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in June. Cenac was named MVP of the camp and soon added an offer from the Wildcats.
“Mark Pope would love him. He’s the type of player Mark Pope loves,” Kevin Saunders, Cenac’s AAU program director, told KSR+ in June. “Knowing how Mark likes to play, he’ll probably run the offense through him. The good thing about it is that he’s such a good basketball player that he makes his teammates better.”
It’s been a breakout summer for Cenac, who has hauled in two dozen offers just since April. He also suited for Team USA at the FIBA U17 World Cup earlier this summer, which ended with him taking home a gold medal. Cenac averaged 8.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per outing for the Americans across seven games played.
