A look ahead to Wednesday's Olympic schedule for Cats in Paris
It was a busy day in Paris at the 2024 Olympics, specifically for current and former University of Kentucky athletes and coaches. With a school-record 22 representatives in attendance, eight of them competed on Tuesday, starting with Avery Skinner in the women’s volleyball quarterfinals, followed by Bam Adebayo, Devin Booker and Anthony Davis (USA) plus Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Trey Lyles and Jamal Murray (Canada) in the men’s 5×5 basketball quarterfinals.
USA got the wins in volleyball and men’s basketball to advance to the semis while Canada was knocked out by France on the other side of the basketball bracket.
Elsewhere, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone ran the fastest 400mH semifinal in Olympic history en route to the event finals on Thursday — appointment viewing for Big Blue Nation as the former Wildcat looks to break her own world record for the fifth time.
How can things get any crazier? How about seven University of Kentucky representatives set to compete across five different events on Wednesday? Yeah, that’s going to be something.
