Aaron Bradshaw, Ugonna Onyenso out another 5-6 weeks
How about an official injury update on Kentucky‘s pair of 7-footers with surgically repaired feet? John Calipari announced at UK Pro Day that Aaron Bradshaw and Ugonna Onyenso would be out another five to six weeks before returning to game action.
As for the program’s newest signee, 7-foot-2 forward Zvonimir Ivisic, he’ll be on campus Thursday.
“We’ve got all these big guys out. We’re playing more 4-on-4 tonight,” Calipari said. “We have three seven-footers. One should be here on campus tomorrow. We have the two with the foot injuries who are out another 5-6 weeks.”
That timeline would put Bradshaw and Onyenso back in mid-November — likely missing the opener, but potentially back in time for the Champions Classic on Nov. 14.
Bradshaw and Onyenso are dressed in full uniform with sneakers — no boots — and getting shots up at Rupp Arena. No participation in team or individual drills, but still out and moving around in front of NBA scouts and front-office personnel.

Bradshaw suffered his foot injury in the McDonald’s All-American Game back in March, followed by surgery in June. Bradshaw spent those two months deciding whether to let his foot heal naturally — a shorter timetable for return, but a greater chance of reinjury down the road — or going through with the procedure. The latter ensured his availability for the upcoming season, so that’s what he chose.
As for Onyenso, he broke his foot during an exhibition game ahead of the GLOBL JAM in Toronto, a timeline for return initially set at “a couple of months.”
“Ugonna Onyenso underwent a successful minor procedure that will keep him out for a couple of months,” Calipari announced in July. “Nobody hated missing last week’s games more than him, and I know he’s going to work his way back to once again have a positive impact on this team.”
As of Wednesday evening at Pro Day, Kentucky’s tallest available player on the roster is Tre Mitchell at 6-9.
But the Wildcats have 21 feet of big man depth on the way.
