Acaden Lewis spent his Christmas serving at the Ronald McDonald House
How did Kentucky signee Acaden Lewis spend his Christmas holiday? By giving back in his community — servant leadership at its finest.
The future Wildcat took his family to the Ronald McDonald House in Northeast Washington, DC to cook and serve a Christmas dinner to those in need. Lewis will be the first to tell you he’s not the best cook personally, but he did his best to help out where he could at the event in the season of giving.
“As you can see, we’re over there cooking food, cheffing it up,” the four-star guard said in a video shared by his father, Jarett Lewis. “That’s not really my profession, so I’m here cutting, working the rice, but we’re having a good day today.”
The meal served on the evening of Monday, December 23 included white chicken enchiladas, authentic Mexican rice, black beans, Mexican hot chocolate bombs and beverages. You can see Lewis and his parents preparing the food while also interacting with families in attendance, looking to spread some holiday cheer.

“Grateful that the (Ronald McDonald House) opened its doors to (Acaden Lewis’) family and friends and allowed us to serve this holiday season. Merry Christmas,” his father shared.

Mark Pope on Acaden Lewis: “I think he’s a beautiful kid.”
“Acaden Lewis is a floor general supreme,” Pope said following the four-star guard’s official addition during the early signing period. “He’s a locker room leader, just watching him roll through the summer and hearing — you know, we’re recruiting a lot of guys, and the guys talk about each other. And I don’t know if there’s a guy that’s more universally like than Acaden Lewis. And how great to have a point guard that’s that way, right? That’s what you want. He is a playmaking point guard. Every play he can make. His vision is elite. He’s wildly skilled. He can get wherever he wants to go on the floor. He does it in a way that’s reproducible.
“He’s got a toughness to him and kind of a balance and even-keeled nature about himself that’s really special. And he earned it. Like in the spring, he was maybe in a space where he was walking around trying to shop himself a little bit. And then by mid-summer, he was trying to tell people ‘Stop bothering me, man. I can’t talk to every single school in the country,’ and he earned it, like he earned it every single day. And I think he’s a beautiful kid.”
