Adem Bona to decide "right after" UCLA visit, per report
It got lost a bit in the football shuffle, but Adem Bona was on campus this weekend for an official visit, along with recent Kentucky commit Chris Livingston. According to a new report, the five-star center’s recruitment will wrap up this month. A source tells On3’s Joe Tipton that Bona will make his decision “right after” his official visit to UCLA the weekend of October 22.
Bona’s final eight are Arizona State, Baylor, Kansas, Kentucky, Miami, UCLA, USC, and the NBL. Prior to visiting Lexington this past weekend, he took an official visit to Kansas on September 17. Bona, who plays for Prolific Prep in Napa, Ca., has also unofficially visited USC. John Calipari and Chin Coleman went to California to visit him last week.
Bona has said Kentucky is his dream school; however, as our Jack Pilgrim reported, Bona’s camp felt Calipari and staff needed to make up some ground after devoting their attentions to Derek Lively II, who ultimately committed to Duke. Tipton says Kentucky still had a “slight edge” over UCLA following this weekend’s visit.

In fact, the only threat to the Kentucky Wildcats in landing Adem Bona might be the UCLA Bruins. I’m still giving the slight edge to Kentucky, though. After UK missed out on Dereck Lively, Coach Cal and Co. are going all-in for Bona.

As for fellow five-star Cason Wallace, Tipton says in the same post that Kentucky’s in such good shape with the 6’4″ combo guard that “at this point, it would be a shock to see him not pick the Wildcats.” You love to hear it.
You can read more of Tipton’s scoop if you have an On3+ subscription. Jack Pilgrim will also share what he’s hearing about Bona’s visit with us in a little bit.
