AJ Rose works out for the Green Bay Packers
Is former Kentucky running back AJ Rose about to get another shot in the NFL? Green Bay clearly likes what the former Wildcat had to show in back-to-back preseasons to open his professional career.
The Packers worked out Rose on Sunday, opening the door to his return to the league after stints with the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams in 2021 and 2022, respectively. The Cleveland, OH native rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns while adding three receptions for 38 yards in the preseason for the Vikings back in 2021 after signing as an undrafted free agent. After being waived during final roster cuts that August, he was signed to the franchise’s practice squad and stuck in Minnesota through June 1, 2022.
He signed with the Rams on June 15, 2022 and ultimately registered 29 rushing yards and one touchdown on 11 attempts during the preseason before being waived on August 20. After a quick stop in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes, Rose is now back looking for a roster spot in the NFL.

Will that be in Green Bay? The Packers are giving him a shot.
A strong career at Kentucky
The 6-foot-1 running back was a standout at Kentucky, finishing his career with 1,971 rushing yards to rank tenth in program history. Playing in 44 career games with 24 consecutive starts, his 5.8 career average per rushing attempt ranks third all-time. He also racked up 13 rushing touchdowns to go with 30 receptions for 233 yards and one score through the air. Helping the Wildcats win three straight bowl games, Rose closed out his time in Lexington with 2,203 all-purpose yards.
Only Benny Snell (3,873), Sonny Collins (3,835), Chris Rodriguez (3,643), Moe Williams (3,333), Rafael Little (2,996), Mark Higgs (2,892), George Adams (2,648), Derrick Locke (2,618), Boom Williams (2,513) and Artose Pinner (2,105) rushed for more yards wearing a Kentucky uniform. And Rose did it as a No. 2 for the majority of his career.
Time to keep his NFL dreams alive with the Green Bay Packers.
