Alabama reportedly targeting Kentucky OL coach Eric Wolford for same position
The Big Blue Wall is about to take a serious hit.
According to a report by BamaOnLine, Alabama is targeting Kentucky’s current offensive line coach, Eric Wolford, to accept the same position with the Crimson Tide ahead of the 2022 season. Wolford would replace Alabama’s offensive line coach from this past season, Doug Marrone, who is still technically part of the Alabama staff.
Wolford has been the offensive line coach at UK for just one year, joining the staff ahead of 2021 season. He was previously at South Carolina for four seasons where he also served as the team’s OL coach.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
During his first season in Lexington, Wolford guided the Big Blue Wall to a finalist position for the Joe Moore Award, handed out each season to the nation’s top group of offensive linemen. He took over the job for the late John Schlarman, who built the Big Blue Wall from scratch back in 2013 when he was named UK’s offensive line coach.
Replacing Wolford, who has been successfully taking on a larger recruiting role, will be a tough challenge for Kentucky. But given the program’s recent winning track record and recruiting success, there should be a talented pool of candidates to choose from.

ESPN’s Chris Low confirms Wolford has accepted an offer to join Nick Saban’s staff.
