Alex Raynor sets school record for consecutive made field goals

Step aside, Austin MacGinnis. Alex Raynor is the new Kentucky school record holder for most consecutive made field goals.
Raynor tied MacGinnis’ record of 11 straight with a 30-yard make with 5:48 to go in the first quarter to take a 3-0 lead. He then broke it with a 12th consecutive kick through the uprights — a 34-yarder with 5:18 remaining in the third quarter to give the Wildcats a 20-lead.
The kick that secured the record:
His record dates back to his debut season at Kentucky in 2023, the senior kicker’s last miss coming on October 28 in the team’s 33-27 loss to Tennessee. That was the only miss of Raynor’s career in Lexington, going 10-11 in his first year, followed by a 9-9 start in 2024 for 19-20 overall.
It’s the second record broken in as many weeks for Raynor, the first being the longest field goal in Kentucky football history with a 55-yarder against No. 1 Georgia, beating the previous record of 54 yards — also set by MacGinnis.

“There’s a lot of doubters out there. I just put my head down and worked my whole career. I’ve been doing this awhile and once again, I’m thankful for this team,” Raynor said after the Georgia game.
