Amari Williams messed around and got a triple-double at Ole Miss
There was one bright spot in Kentucky’s loss at Ole Miss on Tuesday. Amari Williams messed around and got a triple-double. The rest of the game didn’t go his or Kentucky’s way, but we celebrate greatness around here, even in defeat. Williams’ triple-double was only the fourth in the history of Kentucky Basketball.
“It’s a good achievement to have, but I would trade it in for the win, for sure,” Williams said. “That’s all I have to say about it really, just wish we went out there and played better defense as a team and individually, too.”
Williams secured the milestone with a late assist to Otega Oweh, Williams’ 10th assist in the game to go along with 12 points and 11 rebounds. He found Oweh for a backdoor cut for a dunk with 52 seconds left in the game to join Isaiah Briscoe, De’Aaron Fox, and Chris Mills on the short list of Wildcats with triple-doubles.
