Amari Williams receives invitation to G League Elite Camp

Kentucky’s Amari Williams will have his chance to impress NBA scouts next week in Chicago.
According to Jon Chepkevich, who is the Director of Scouting for Draft Express, Williams has received an invitation to participate in the 2025 NBA G League Elite Camp, which will take place May 9-11 at Wintrust Arena. KSR’s Jacob Polacheck has since confirmed the news.
A good showing from Williams at the G League Elite Camp could earn him an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine. Fellow Wildcats Otega Oweh and Koby Brea were among the list of 75 players invited to the Combine, which was revealed on Friday. Oweh has until May 28 to either keep his name in the draft or return to Kentucky.
The annual NBA Draft Combine will be held from May 11-18 at Wintrust Arena (where DePaul and the Chicago Sky play) and the Marriott Marquis. This week-long showcase brings scouts and front office personnel from all 30 teams to one place for a first-hand look at the best draft-eligible prospects ahead of June’s NBA Draft.
It’s no surprise to see Williams receive an invite to the G League Elite Camp, although it was a bit shocking to see his name left off the NBA Draft Combine list. A versatile seven-footer with a 7-foot-6 wingspan, Williams averaged 10.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks in 22.8 minutes per outing for Kentucky in 2024-25 while shooting 56.1 percent from the field.

There isn’t a more unique prospect in this entire draft than the native of England. ESPN’s Jonathan Givony ranks Williams as the 63rd-best available prospect in this year’s NBA Draft.
The rest of Kentucky’s graduated players — Jaxson Robinson, Andrew Carr, Lamont Butler, and Ansley Almonor — did not receive invites to the NBA Draft Combine and have yet to receive invites to the 2025 NBA G League Elite Camp. Incoming transfer guard Jaland Lowe, who is also going through the NBA Draft process, is currently in the same boat.
The 2025 NBA Draft will be held from June 25-26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
