Amari Williams was perfect against Vanderbilt. The most perfect since...

Amari Williams was outstanding in Kentucky‘s 82-61 win over Vanderbilt. The Wildcats’ starting big man scored 17 points without a miss from the field or the charity stripe. Williams made all six of his shot attempts and all five of his free throws for a rare game of perfection.
How rare? Jon Scott over at Big Blue History noted that Williams is one of only nine players in history to go perfect from the field and the line with more than five field-goal attempts. Of that small group of perfection, Williams is the only player with at least six makes from the field and five from the line.
Rodney Dent went 7-for-7 from the field and 3-for-3 from the line in 1993. Rick Robey went 6-for-6 and 6-for-6 in 1978. Williams’ 6-for-6 and 5-for-5 night is third on the list.
Williams also had six rebounds, four blocks, and an assist against the Commodores.
The first Division I/NBA player since…
OptaSTATS looked even deeper into Williams’ big night against Vandy and discovered a mind-blowing stat regarding Williams’ line. With 17 points, four blocks, and 100% shooting from the field and the line, Williams became the first Division I or NBA player since 2010 to have 15+ points, 4+ blocks, and perfect shooting in a game.

Pau Gasol was the last to do it on November 21, 2010, versus the Warriors. The first since Pau Gasol in 2010? That’s nuts.
Williams’ per 40-minute stats
Williams is also in rare air in his points, assists, and rebounds per 40 minutes this season. Mark Pope said in his postgame comments that Williams P.A.R. (points-assist-rebounds) is top-five all-time in the history of the Southeastern Conference. Two other Wildcats are on that short list, Pope noted: “Boogie and Oscar Tshiebwe. That’s pretty incredible company.”
Williams averages 19 points, five assists, and 16 rebounds per 40 minutes for Kentucky. Throw in his triple-double at Ole Miss, and he is having a special season in his one year as a Wildcat.
