America's Next Great Sporting Event is a Wienermobile Race

Hot dog! A great spectacle is on the horizon this Memorial Day weekend. Fast cars and hot dogs are coming together for the first-ever Wienie 500 when the fleet of Oscar Meyer Wienermobiles hits the track at the world famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
You’ve heard the idiom, “It’s as American as apple pie.” I’m here to tell you that nothing is more American than a hot dog car.
Oscar Mayer created the Wienermobile in 1936. The silly vehicle is typically used to cruise in parades. After 90 years, the question is finally going to be answered, “How fast can that wiener go?”
There are six Wienermobiles in the fleet. They’ll be put to test on the track for the very first time on Carb Day ahead of the Indianapolis 500. Each Wienermobile will be customized to represent different regions from across the country: The Chicago Dog (Midwest), New York Dog (East), Slaw Dog (Southeast), Sonoran Dog (Southwest), Chili Dog (South), and Seattle Dog (Northwest).

If you made me wager on which one runs the fastest, it’s clearly the chili dog. The good news is that you can wager on the race, kind of. DraftKings has a free pool with $10,000 in prizes doled out to participants who answer a series of questions about how the race will unfold.
To reiterate, you can bet on which hot dog car is the fastest. What’s more American than that?
The inaugural Wienie 500 is at 2 PM ET Friday afternoon. You can stream it on the Fox Sports app or follow along on their various social media channels.
Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating competition has become an annual Fourth of July tradition. Watching men and women dip hot dogs into water and scarf down five dozen in ten minutes is objectively disgusting. Watching someone floor it in a Wienermobile at Indianapolis Motor Speedway? That’s a tradition that can unite us all.
