Georgia Amoore one of four players in the country averaging at least eight assists per game
Last season, Georgia Amoore averaged 6.8 assists per game at Virginia Tech, so it was clear that Kentucky would be getting a gifted passer when she transferred over in the offseason.
Amoore is surrounded by a plethora of talent at every position. There are multitude of talented players like Dazia Lawrence, Teonni Key and Clara Strack who can go get a bucket at any given point. Then, players like Amelia Hassett and Clara Silva add to the punch that Kentucky brings offensively.
The 5-foot-6 point guard is currently tied for third in the country in assists per game with 8.2, making her just one of four players in all of college basketball averaging at least eight assists per game. She is first in the SEC and second among power conference players.
Rank | Player | Team | APG |

2 | Emily Ryan | Iowa State | 8.4 |
T-3 | Georgia Amoore | Kentucky | 8.2 |
T-3 | Chardonnay Hartley | Utah Tech | 8.2 |
Amoore has tallied at least seven assists in each of Kentucky’s first four games this season, with her season high of 10 coming against USC Upstate in the season opener. Against Louisville, she recorded nine assists — her second highest assist total on the year.

In the Music City Classic, it’ll be imperative that Amoore can continue to find open teammates if Kentucky is going to leave Nashville unscathed. Arizona State is one of the biggest teams Kentucky will face this season, if not the biggest. Then, No. 22 Illinois is going to bring some serious fight the next day.
The Cats need Amoore to keep those assist numbers up if they’re going to move to 6-0 and then hopefully 7-0 on Wednesday.
