Georgia Amoore ranked as 11th best player in women's college basketball by ESPN

Georgia Amoore is about as talented as it gets, and it’s evident just looking at her resume and the preseason honors that she’s racked up heading into this year. On Thursday, however, Amoore received yet another honor to show just how good she really is.

ESPN has Amoore ranked as the 11th best player in the country, and that puts her as the 5th best player in the SEC.

Additionally, ESPN’s Alexa Philippou gave a quick rundown explaining Amoore’s placement amongst her peers. Coming to a new conference and team is ultimately the biggest uncertainty regarding how Amoore will do this season, but her skill and talent should carry her far.

“Amoore had a decorated four-year run at Virginia Tech, where she was the ACC tournament MVP and led the school to its first Final Four in 2023, then earned third-team All-America honors in 2024,” Philippou wrote. “Amoore announced she was returning for a fifth year — and then joined former Hokies coach Kenny Brooks at Kentucky, which has been an afterthought in the SEC since Rhyne Howard graduated. How the point guard adjusts to new teammates (and to not having Elizabeth Kitley) and a new league is one of the bigger storylines to monitor this season.”
