After going into the portal for the second straight offseason, Andrej Stojakovic has opted to leave the West Coast.

According to On3’s Joe Tipton, Stojakovic has committed to Illinois over the likes of North Carolina and a return to Stanford. The 6-foot-7 former McDonald’s All-American started his college career at Stanford (2023-24) before transferring to California, where he spent the 2024-25 season. But as he enters his junior campaign, the talented scorer is heading to play for the Fighting Illini in the Big Ten.

Stojakovic, the son of a longtime NBA player Peja Stojakovic, averaged 17.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 blocks in 33.4 minutes per outing at Cal. On3 ranks him as the 30th-best portal prospect to transfer this offseason.

Kentucky head coach Mark Pope recruited Stojakovic heavily last offseason, but the California native elected to stay close to home, choosing the Golden Bears over UK and North Carolina. There was some chatter that Pope and his staff might look to re-engage with Stojakovic this offseason, but once Kentucky landed Florida transfer guard Denzel Aberdeen, that talk was quickly shut down.

There are still a couple of interesting Wildcat-related angles to Stojakovic choosing Illinois, though. In Champaign, he’ll team up alongside former Kentucky center Zvonimir Ivisic, who played at UK under John Calipari in 2023-24 before following him to Arkansas in 2024-25. Ivisic elected to join his brother, Tomislav Ivisic, at Illinois instead of returning to the Razorbacks. Illinois is also where former Kentucky assistant coach Orlando Antigua is currently on staff.

Brad Underwood is assembling a talented group of Balkan Boys out in Illinois.
