Kentucky tackle Anfernee Crease will enter transfer portal

The spring transfer portal window does not open until Wednesday, but the expectation was that news would start to slowly leak out before college football free agency officially begun in April. We knew that Kentucky would need some more roster attrition to get down to 85 scholarship players after losing 21 scholarship players to the portal in December.
Offensive tackle Anfernee Crease will join offensive lineman Daniel Mincey and defensive lineman Kendrick Gilbert in the the portal on Wednesday. The former junior college transfer is the sixth scholarship offensive line player to leave the program for college football free agency this offseason.

The Tomball (Texas) Memorial product started his career at Division II Texas-Permian Basin in 2022 and took a redshirt. Anfernee Crease then moved to Navarro College where he played one season of junior college football. That led to the transfer committing to SMU but ultimately flipping to Kentucky. Crease played in just two games for the Wildcats. After running with the second unit at right tackle in Kentucky’s spring showcase, Crease will be looking for his fourth college football home in four years.
Kentucky is now down to 15 scholarship players in the offensive line room.
