After a year of UK fans obsessing over his facial hair and seeking to buy merchandise promoting it, Anthony Davis is about to get paid for the world's most famous Unibrow. According to CNBC,
Davis has Trademarked the phrase "Fear the Brow", ensuring that any future use of the phrase will include a payment to the Uniblocker. Davis says that he loves the Unibrow and simply wants to make his money.
“I don’t want anyone to try to grow a unibrow because of me and then try to make money off of it,” Davis told CNBC.
“Me and my family decided to trademark it because it’s very unique.”
I have always been a huge proponent of the Unibrow as a unique status symbol and I love that Davis embraced it and is now thriving because of it. It is a good lesson for our kids ("see young people, you can take what people make fun of you about, and then turn it into profit") and gives me hope for my "Fear the Cow Lick" campaign for the future. I hope Davis makes a substantial profit from it and hopefully he will never cut it.
