In a pretty big Twitter goof, the Associated Press named Denzel Washington its 2015-16 Player of the Year. However, the Training Day star does not play college basketball; therefore he is ineligible to win the award. It will go to Michigan State’s Denzel Valentine instead. Valentine is the rightful winner.

Valentine edged out Buddy Hield in the voting, 34-31, to earn his sixth player of the year award. He also took honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches, USA Today, Sports Illustrated, NBC Sports and Basketball Times.

Hield was named Player of the Year by the Sporting News and CBS Sports.

The Oscar Robertson and Naismith trophy winners will be announced this weekend at the Final Four.
