Following the 2020 season, Kentucky’s wide receiver recruiting seemed to flip over the night once the Wildcats got to sell an NFL offense. Since that period, five top-500 prospects have signed with the Wildcats and two more are committed in the class of 2023.

However, Kentucky is not done looking for wideout help this cycle. Shamar Porter and Anthony Brown were two big recruiting wins for the Cats, but the coaching staff is still looking for more help. Demitrius Bell and Karmello English are two known names at wide receiver, but another came into the picture this week.

Kentucky has issued a verbal scholarship offer to Massillon (Ohio) Washington wide receiver Ardell Banks.

At 6-foot-3 and 191 pounds, Reese has the size to be a true X receiver that can into the boundary and win in isolation, but that is not the main reason of interest here. The rising mid three-star prospect has a track background and legitimate vertical speed to be a downfield weapon in an SEC offense.

Banks decommitted from Toledo in September when some Power Five schools began to show some interest and now Kentucky is making a push for the top 30 prospect in Ohio as signing day is just over a month away.

Keep an eye on Ardell Banks as the Cats look to fill the remaining spots in their class.
