At The Half: Missouri 17, Kentucky 14

Kroger Field has housed one half of football between the Kentucky Wildcats (5-1, 2-1) and the Missouri Tigers (5-1, 2-1) on SEC Saturday Night. On the scoreboard, Mizzou leads going into intermission after stealing a late TD before the break.
Here’s how we got to the current score:
First Touchdown Scorer: Ray Davis
Kentucky struck first after holding Missouri to a three-and-out on the Tigers’ first drive. The Cats took over at the 35, and nine snaps later, Ray Davis added to his season touchdown total with his 13th of the year. Davis scored on a seven-yard reception from Devin Leary for Davis’ fifth receiving touchdown of the season and Leary’s 13th scoring toss.
Mad Max
Kentucky’s Maxwell Hairston added to his interception total early in the game. The sophomore defensive back intercepted Brady Cook‘s third pass of the night on Mizzou’s second drive. The same Cook who, last month, set the Southeastern Conference’s record for most attempts without throwing an interception.
Hairston’s INT was his fifth of the season, the most in the NCAA. Even better, it got Kentucky the ball back to punch in the second touchdown.

Leary’s 13-yard TD run made it 14-0, Kentucky.
Mizzou’s Fake Punt
While the Wildcats’ defense held its ground, special teams slipped up and allowed Mizzou to find the end zone. The Tigers’ score came on a fake punt when punter Luke Bauer‘s lofty heave found Marquis Johnson for a 39-yard touchdown on the trick play. Kentucky’s Andru Phillips had the pass covered, but Johnson still hauled it in for the points on the fourth-down gamble.
Tigers Stole The Lead Before Halftime
10 unanswered points gave Missouri the lead for 15 seconds in the first half. You know the drill: Kentucky gave up a late second-quarter touchdown, a movie that Big Blue Nation has seen many times before.
Cook found Theo Wease Jr. for the go-ahead pass and catch.
