Kentucky is getting its groove back on the football recruiting trail. Top 250 prospect Avery Stuart announced his commitment to Kentucky on Wednesday. He chose the Wildcats over Florida State and Auburn.

Stuart is a four-star talent from Montgomery, AL. He’s ranked as the No. 222 player in the country according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 14 safety and No. 151 player overall in the On300 rankings.

Stuart has Impeccable Timing

The Wildcats were searching for momentum on the recruiting trail. After losing CB Cristian Conyer to Tennessee, Frank Buffano helped Kentucky secure the second-highest ranked recruit in the 2023 recruiting class.

“I got a chance to visit Kentucky and was surprised that they have all that in Kentucky,” told On3 after narrowing his list. “Coach Buff (Frank Buffano) always keeps in contact with me. The players love their coaches just as much as the coaches love their players.”

Now with nine commitments secured, Stuart could be the first of a few high-profile additions for the Wildcats. OL Koby Keenum and four-star DL Kendrick Gilbert have planned announcements for this week and Kentucky is in excellent position to land each prospect.

A Versatile Athlete in the Secondary

Avery Stuart is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound explosive athlete that stars on offense and defense for Alabama Christian Academy. A man of many talents, he can play centerfield as a safety and he has the size Kentucky desires in its cornerbacks. An instinctual talent that’s not afraid to create contact in the box, Stuart brings a lot of eye-opening tools to the UK secondary.
