WATCH: Barion Brown makes Gator Bowl, UK history with 100-yd kickoff return TD
We’ve still got over a quarter of football left in Jacksonville, but Barion Brown‘s highlights cannot wait. The sophomore wideout has TWO touchdowns so far in the Gator Bowl to give the Cats the 21-10 lead over Clemson, and amazingly, neither was receiving.
Brown got the Cats on the board in the first quarter with a 22-yard touchdown run, and in the third quarter, put them up 11 with a 100-yard kickoff return, the longest kick return touchdown in Gator Bowl history. It’s his third kickoff return touchdown this season (100-yard vs. Louisville, 99-yard vs. Ball State) and fourth of his career 100-yard vs. Miami OH in 2022), both Kentucky Football records. Previously, Brown was tied with Derek Abney for the most in a season (two) and Craig Yeast for the most in a career (three).
With eight minutes to go in the third quarter, Brown also has two catches for 40 yards, bringing his total yards to 162. He’s the first Kentucky player with a kickoff return, receiving, and rushing touchdown in the same season since Derrick Locke in 2009.
At this point, what can’t Brown do for you?
