Baylor Scheierman includes Kentucky in Top 10 list
After hearing from almost every high-major team in the country, South Dakota State star Baylor Scheierman is already narrowing his list to ten. According to Jonathan Givony, Kentucky made the cut, along with Arkansas, Clemson, Creighton, Duke, Kansas, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Texas, and Wake Forest. The 6’6″ wing with a sweet three-point stroke has already conducted eight in-home visits and is planning to announce his decision within the next two weeks.
Kentucky first reached out to Scheierman yesterday, one day after he entered the transfer portal. He averaged 16.2 points on 50.8% from the floor, 46.9% from three; 7.8 rebounds; and 4.5 assists as a sophomore at South Dakota State last season. Over the past two seasons, he’s averaged 2.5 three-pointers per game on 5.4 attempts. He is No. 3 in The Athletic’s transfer rankings.
The Cats got a commitment from Illinois State wing Antonio Reeves this morning, but that’s clearly not scaring Scheierman off. Kyle Tucker is reporting that John Calipari and Orlando Antigua remain in “constant communication” with Scheierman and his agent. More details on the courtship will likely come in the next few days.
