Baylor's Scott Drew being targeted as next Kentucky coach, per report by NJ.com
Is Kentucky’s coaching search over before it even begins? Adam Zagoria of NJ.com believes so, reporting early Tuesday evening that Baylor’s Scott Drew has emerged as the early favorite to replace John Calipari in Lexington.
“Kentucky is targeting Baylor coach Scott Drew to replace John Calipari, with one source telling NJ Advance Media the two sides are in talks,” Zagoria wrote.
Coach Cal is just a few hours removed from announcing his resignation, paving the path for a move to Arkansas.
“We’re appreciative of John Calipari leading our program for the last 15 years, adding to the legacy of championship success at Kentucky,” Mitch Barnhart announced following Calipari’s departure. “We’re grateful to John for his many contributions to the University, and our state, both on and off the court.
