BBNBA: Bam Adebayo makes Heat history in win over Raptors
Amidst trade rumors surrounding Heat All-Star Jimmy Butler, his fellow teammate, Bam Adebayo, has been stepping up his on-court play. Adebayo made some franchise history last night as well in a 114-104 win over the Toronto Raptors.
Adebayo posted his fourth straight double-double in what was Miami’s fourth straight win. He went for 21 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, and one block in 34 minutes while shooting 8-17 from the field (1-3 3PT). This marked the sixth time in his career (all with Miami) that he’s recorded at least 20 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists in a single game — the most by any Heat player in team history, per Real Sports.
That’s not all though. Adebayo’s 205th career double-double ties him with Alonzo Mourning for second on the Heat all-time list, trailing only Rony Seikaly (221). He also extended his career-best streak of games with at least five assists to 10 straight. This hasn’t been Adebayo’s best season as a whole so far, but he has the Heat sitting on a 13-10 record now, good enough for fifth-best in the Eastern Conference.
However, it has been the best season for Adebayo’s teammate, Tyler Herro, who has been equally as important to the Heat’s recent success. He dropped 23 points, four rebounds, and four assists on 9-13 shooting (4-7 3PT) last night against the Raptors. Herro leads the team in scoring this season at 24.2 points (easily a career-high) per outing on shooting splits of 48.4/42.7/87.4.

Fox, Monk struggle, but Kings come out on top
De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk struggled to shoot the ball against the New Orleans Pelicans, but a 32-point, 20-rebound performance from Domantas Sabonis was more than enough to lead the Sacramento Kings to a 111-109 victory on the road.
Fox was slightly better from the field than Monk, finishing with 18 points on 7-20 shooting including a 1-6 mark from deep. He did chip in eight assists and seven rebounds but with five turnovers tacked on. Meanwhile, Monk was ice cold with just five points on 2-11 shooting along with a 1-5 clip from beyond the arc. But like Fox, he contributed elsewhere with nine assists and three rebounds. Sacramento has won three straight and four of its last five games.
On the losing side, Brandon Boston Jr. added nine points (3-9 FG), four rebounds, and two assists in his 25 minutes for the Pelicans. Antonio Reeves only saw three minutes of action, recording one assist and one rebound.
