After four lackluster seasons of bouncing back and forth between the NBA and the G-League, Brandon Boston Jr. seems to have finally found his footing in the league with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Boston, who was claimed off waivers by the Pelicans on October 21, played just a combined 13 minutes in his first two games of the season (October 29 & 30 vs. Golden State).

Over the last two games however, the former five-star recruit has seen his role expand exponentially, having played a combined 53 minutes off the bench for New Orleans. Boston has scored 14 points in both games, shooting a combined 10-19 from the field.

The 6’6 guard has now played in 109 career games, but has reached the 14-point mark in just 13 of those games. Two of those have come in the first four games of his 2024/25 season.

Boston will forever be linked to the 2020/21 Kentucky Basketball team, which posted the worst season in school history (9-16). The Norcross, GA native, along with former teammates Isaiah Jackson (who just tore his Achilles on Friday), Jacob Toppin, and Olivier Sarr continue to carve their paths out in the NBA.

Also in New Orleans’ 126-111 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, Antonio Reeves scored his first points in his young NBA career. Reeves played just four minutes, but made one of two attempted three-point shots. Reeves has attempted six three-pointers in three games played, but has made just one shot from beyond the arc.

Other BBNBA Notes:

  • PJ Washington totaled seven points and grabbed four rebounds in Dallas’ 108-85 drumming of the Paolo Banchero-less Orlando Magic Sunday night. The Mavericks are 4-2 to open the young season.
