De’Aaron Fox is on an absolute heater over the span Sacramento’s first 17 games of the season.

Fox, who is playing in his eighth NBA season, scored 31 points in the Kings’ 108-103 loss to the Brooklyn Nets Sunday night. He is now averaging 29.0 PPG this season, which would be a career-high. Over the last five games, the 1x NBA All-Star is averaging 39/4/7. However, the Kings are just 1-4 in that span.

Although Trey Lyles played 19 minutes, he attempted just one field goal and finished with 0 points. Malik Monk is still out nursing an ankle injury.

Justin Edwards makes NBA debut in Philly’s blowout loss

Justin Edwards made his NBA debut for the Philadelphia 76ers Sunday night in a 26-point loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Edwards, who came to Kentucky in 2023 as a five-star prospect and the projected No. 1 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, wound up going undrafted and made the team as an UDFA. Edwards played six minutes in his debut, racking up six points (2-3 FG) and two rebounds. Tyrese Maxey scored 17 points (5-13 FG) in the loss, which dropped the Sixers’ record to a lowly 3-13.

Rob Dillingham scores career-high 14 points in loss

In his ninth NBA game, Rob Dillingham recorded his first double-digit point outing with 14 in a 107-105 loss to the Boston Celtics Sunday night. He led the Timberwolves bench in scoring, making six of his 10 attempted shots. If there’s one thing about Rob, he’s going to get his shots up.

Julius Randle totaled 23 points in the loss, bringing his season average to 21.7 PPG, which would be his lowest in a season since 2021-22 (20.1 PPG).

Other BBNBA Notes:

  • Bam Adebayo (19) and Tyler Herro (18) combined for 37 points in Miami’s 123-118 OT win over the Dallas Mavericks Sunday night, although Herro missed NINE three-pointers. P.J. Washington finished second among Mavericks with 21 points in the loss.
