There were 10 games in action on Friday night across the Association. Which means plenty of former Kentucky Wildcats saw the floor. In fact, 14 Kentucky players suited up last night, with five of them reaching the 20-point threshold.

We’ll start in Minnesota where Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves had zero issue taking care of the Portland Trail Blazers, which was without Shaedon Sharpe due to an adductor injury. Towns was efficient in reaching his 23 points, shooting 7-8 from the field and making all three of his three-point attempts. KAT pulled down eight rebounds and needed just 27 minutes to achieve his stat line as the Wolves broke down Portland 116-93.

Next up are Tyrese Maxey and De’Aaron Fox, who went head-to-head on Friday night and both finished with 21 points a piece. It was Maxey who came out on top though, as the Philadelphia 76ers (without Joel Embiid) paced the Sacramento Kings from start to finish for a 112-93 victory. Maxey shot 6-17 from the field to reach his 21 points while also contributing three rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks.

He also did this.

Meanwhile, Fox shot 5-15 overall and 2-7 from deep for his 21 points. He added five rebounds and four assists to his line as well. His Kings teammates, Malik Monk and Trey Lyles, combined to shoot 7-25 (1-12 from deep) for 20 points.

Moving right along, Bam Adebayo went for 21 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists as the Miami Heat narrowly took down the Orlando Magic 99-96. Adebayo hit the go-ahead jumper with 18.5 seconds left to lift Miami. This was just the seventh win all season (7-107) where a team won despite failing to score 100 points. Heat guard Tyler Herro was absent with a shoulder injury.

Finally, Jamal Murray posted 20 points (8-15 shooting) and nine assists as the Denver Nuggets took down the surging New Orleans Pelicans 125-113. Nuggets star Nikola Jokic went for his 12th triple-double of the season with 27 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds.

Other BBNBA notes

  • Kevin Knox had another solid performance in his resurgent season for the Detroit Pistons, finishing with 19 points and seven rebounds on 7-9 shooting in a 112-110 loss to the Houston Rockets. Knox has scored in double-figures in six of his last outings.
  • In his seventh game for the Toronto Raptors since being traded, Immanuel Quickley went for 15 points and three rebounds on 4-8 shooting (including a perfect 3-3 mark from deep) in just 25 minutes. His effort came in a 145-113 loss to the Utah Jazz. IQ is averaging 18.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game so far as a Raptor.
  • Isaiah Jackson stuffed the stat sheet for the Indiana Pacers in a 126-108 win over the Atlanta Hawks. Jackson posted 12 points, five rebounds, two assists, four steals, and three blocks in his 18 minutes. The blowout allowed Oscar Tshiebwe to see the floor too, as he chipped in four points and one rebound in three minutes for the Pacers.
  • Nick Richards got the start for the Charlotte Hornets, going for 12 points and eight rebounds in 22 minutes. However, it came in a 135-99 loss to Keldon Johnson and the San Antonio Spurs. Johnson contributed 10 points and two rebounds on 3-11 shooting. The Hornets were without PJ Washington, who was sidelined due to a foot injury.
