BBNBA: Herro, Murray, and Maxey each score 30 in wins
Three former Kentucky Wildcats posted 30-point games in the NBA on Friday, continuing to showcase the absurd amount of talent John Calipari has pumped through Lexington over the last decade-plus. Tyrese Maxey, Tyler Herro, and Jamal Murray all hit the 30-point milestone, helping lead their team to victories along the way.
Herro played in just this third game back after missing 18 straight due to injury. In those three games, he averaged 27.7 points, so it is safe to say he is fully recovered. He had 30 points and seven rebounds against the Hawks on Friday.
Jamal Murray knows a thing or two about excelling after coming back from injury as well. He continues to be a cornerstone for the defending NBA champions. He posted 32 points, nine assists, and two blocks in the Nuggets’ win over the Nets.
The leading candidate for NBA’s Most Improved Player, Tyrese Maxey, keeps adding to his résumé. He casually poured in 33 points while dishing out 10 assists as the Philadelphia 76ers rolled past the Toronto Raptors on Friday.
Malik Monk nearly tore the roof off the building with a dunk
Malik Monk only had seven points in the Sacramento Kings’ victory over the Phoenix Suns, but two of them have counted for more. Monk reared back and tomahawked a ferocious slam as the Kings were pulling away, and celebrated by headbutting the padding behind the goal.

It’s worth a watch. Or 12.
De’Aaron Fox had another strong outing, leading his team to the win. His 23 points and seven assists are almost automatic every night.
The Suns, on the other hand, continue to struggle. They mortgaged the farm to bring in Kevin Durant and thus far the results have been disappointing, despite his great play.
Devin Booker keeps doing his thing as well despite the team’s struggles. He put up 24 points and seven assists against the Kings.
