BBNBA: Julius Randle explodes for 39 points in Knicks win
A Kentucky sports blog might be the only type of its sort to be able to post a daily recap of its school’s players in the NBA and its headline almost always be “Former Player scored 30-plus points” nearly every day. This morning’s rendition of professional basketball excellence from an alumnus features Julius Randle of the New York Knickerbockers.
Randle scored 39 points in the Knicks’ win over the Washington Wizards on Saturday on an efficient 13 of 23 from the field. The hefty lefty has now scored at least 20 points in 28 of his last 30 games and looks to be on his way to yet another All-Star bid.
Randle also chipped in seven rebounds and five assists, as he now has to represent Big Blue Nation in the Big Apple all by himself now that the team shipped Immanuel Quickley up north to Canada, and Jacob Toppin has yet to crack the active roster. Thus far, he’s doing a fine job.
Other BBNBA Notes:
Tyrese Maxey poured in his usual 20-something points (25 to be exact) but the Philadelphia 76ers fell to the Utah Jazz 120-109. With reigning MVP, Joel Embiid, out, Maxey has had to carry the team on his back, a task proving to be fairly difficult. Embiid has missed six of the team’s last eight games and Philly is just 2-4 during that time.

Oscar Tshiebwe scored his 12th and 13th points of his NBA career on Saturday. The bucket came in garbage time against the Boston Celtics with the Pacers down nearly 20 points in the final minute. This time, no drama over the game ball with a league superstar ensued.
