BBNBA: KAT explodes for 46 points in Knicks loss
The Karl-Anthony Towns experiment has been a success for the New York Knicks, although their record may not show it.
KAT exploded for 46 points (18-30 FG) in the Knicks’ 124-123 loss to the Chicago Bulls Wednesday night, with 31 of his points coming in the second half. Towns’ 46 points tied for the second most points EVER by a Knicks center, bringing his season averages to 26.5 PPG and 12.2 RPG. As of now, the 10th year center is flirting with career highs.
He is the 18th player in NBA history to record 13,000+ points, 6,000+ rebounds and 1,000+ three-pointers. However, the Knicks are just 5-6 this season, with three of their five losses coming by less than six points.
“If there’s no W attached to it, then it’s a bad night,” Towns said following the loss. Teammate Jalen Brunson had a shot at the buzzer for the win, but it rimmed out with no time remaining.
Shaedon Sharpe scores career-high 33 points in win
Ah yes, Shaedon Sharpe.
BBN’s prodigal son scored a career-high 33 points in Portland’s 106-98 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves Wednesday night. Sharpe shot 12-23 from the field, including 9-13 from within the three-point arc. This marked Sharpe’s second career 30-point game, and it was capped off with a MONSTER put-back dunk that set the Moda Center ablaze.
Julius Randle scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss, notching his 273rd career double-double. Rob Dillingham played just nine minutes and scored three points.
SGA and the Thunder keep on winning
The Oklahoma City Thunder are a serious problem.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 29 points (12-25 FG) and dished out five assists in OKC’s 106-88 win over the lowly New Orleans Pelicans to improve to 10-2 on the season. This was SGA’s first game since he set a new career-high with 45 points on Monday night.
