BBNBA: Maxey, Towns, Bam score 20+ in wins

It was a winning evening for most of our former NBA ‘Cats on Thursday as several of them led their teams to victories with strong performances. Check it out.
Maxey in charge as Sixers defeat Nuggets
Here’s Tyrese Maxey since Joel Embiid went down for Philly:

Since Embiid went out, Tyrese Maxey is the Sixers leader in points (23.7 per game), minutes (37.4), field goal attempts (17.7) and three-point percentage (51.4%). Quite literally, he has taken over as the captain of the ship in Philadelphia.
Last night’s win over Denver was no different. Maxey made nine of 15 shots including 2-3 from three to lead in scoring with 22 as the 76ers took down the Nuggets in a defensive showdown, 103-89, snapping a five-game losing streak.
Check out the Captain’s clips from the win:
KAT goes for 25 in blowout of Spurs
After a rough start to the month, Minnesota is getting back on track, now having beat Sacramento and San Antonio in back-to-back nights while getting 20+ from Karl-Anthony Towns in both wins.
Yesterday, KAT needed just 16 shots to amass 25 points, making three of four triples in the process. He also finished with 12 rebounds and five assists, so a solid night across the board.

Even though 25-12-5 with 3-4 three-point shooting is an excellent stat line for any center in the NBA, I still would opine for Towns to take even more shots. He’s a seven-footer that shoots 46% from three! He should take 10 threes a game alone, and probably 20 or so total shots on any given night. More shots for KAT and hopefully more wins for Minnesota.
Bam steps up in win over Washington
If you don’t have your finger on the pulse of the NBA like our BBNBA team, you might be surprised to hear that the Washington Wizards were the no. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference earlier this week.
With last night’s win, the Miami Heat usurped control of the conference in a stout 112-97 win. In the absence of Tyler Herro — who sat with a minor wrist injury — Bam Adebayo scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help win the battle against a solid Washington frontcourt.
