BBNBA: SGA leads Thunder past Trail Blazers for 5th largest win in NBA history
Thursday night in the NBA was rather uneventful, but there was one game that caught the eyes of everyone on social media.
In what was bound to be an average Western Conference matchup, the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 139-77 behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander‘s effort. OKC’s 62-point margin of victory is the 5th largest in NBA history.

Gilgeous-Alexander scored 31 points on a very efficient 11-15 (73%) from the field. He also grabbed five rebounds, dished out four assists, and rejected one shot. Gilgeous-Alexander has 1.7 million fan votes in the NBA All-Star fan voting (third-most among Western Conference guards), and deservedly so. Everything clearly went right for OKC and SGA as the Thunder cruised to one of the most dominant wins of all-time.
The Thunder are one of the most exciting young teams in the NBA. They currently sit at 26-11, tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves for first in the Western Conference. Can Gilgeous-Alexander bring a championship to Oklahoma City? Well, if the Thunder continue to pummel their opponents like this, then they just might.
