BBNBA: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Scores 30+ in 7th Straight Game

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander showed once again why he deserves to be right in the thick of the MVP conversation.
In the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 121-114 victory over Atlanta Monday night, Gilgeous-Alexander added former All-Stars Trae Young and Dejounte Murray to a stacked list of talented players he’s outplayed this season. SGA finished with 35 points on 10-22 shooting, going a perfect 15/15 from the free throw line. He sported a +12 +/- in 35 minutes played.
Gilgeous-Alexander’s streak of seven consecutive 30+ point performances ties Kevin Durant for the 4th longest streak in the history of the franchise. SGA has now scored 30+ in a ridiculous 17 of his 22 games played this season. He is tied with Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic with 17 for the most 30+ point games this season.
Devin Booker’s Kryptonite: The Dallas Mavericks
Monday night’s matchup between the Suns and Mavericks once again proved that Devin Booker does indeed have a kryptonite; the team from Dallas.

Last season, the Dallas Mavericks infamously embarrassed the Phoenix Suns in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals, leading 57-27 at one point and eventually winning 123-90. Booker struggled mightily in that game, mustering only 11 points on 3-14 shooting and a horrendous -41 +/-.
Monday night looked eerily similar for Booker, as he posted a near-identical stat line. He finished with 11 points on 4-13 shooting and a -18 +/-, easily his worst game of the season.
This game will probably just end up being a minor bump in the road, however, as Booker is averaging 29.1 PPG through 23 games this season
Other BBNBA Notes
- Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo combined for 38 points in Miami’s 93-101 loss to Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies Monday night. Herro’s 23 & 13 were good for his third double-double of the season. Miami is now 11-14 on the season and has mightily underperformed so far.
- P.J. Washington bounced back from a brutal 0-13 shooting night on December 3rd in a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks to score 26 points on 11-21 shooting in Charlotte’s two-point loss to the Los Angeles Clippers Monday night. Washington is averaging a modest 15.4 PPG, 4.7 RPG, and 2.2 APG this season for the Hornets. Nick Richards added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Charlotte, his sixth double-double of the year.
