Karl-Anthony Towns’ monster first season with the New York Knicks continued Sunday night, as he scored 22 points and grabbed a season-high 22 rebounds in a 100-91 win over the Orlando Magic.

With the win, the Knicks became the first team to win a road game in Orlando this season. Following the 22 point/22 rebound performance, KAT is averaging 24.9 PTS and 13.6 REB. His 13.6 rebounds per game leads the NBA and would be a career-high if he stays above the 13 mark.

New York has won six of its last eight games and now sits at 16-10, good for third in the Eastern Conference.

AD posts 40 points & 16 rebounds in win

Anthony Davis totaled 40 points and 16 rebounds in Los Angeles’ 116-110 win over the Memphis Grizzlies Sunday night, bringing his season averages to 27.8 PTS (7th in NBA) and 11.4 REB (6th in NBA).

AD was highly efficient from the field, making 15 of his 22 shots (68%). He posted his fourth 40/15 game as a Laker, which ranks fourth all time in franchise history behind just Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (seven), Shaquille O’Neal (seven), and Wilt Chamberlain (five).

The Lakers are now 14-12 and sit at 10th in the Western Conference.

Booker’s 28 propels Suns to win over Blazers

Devin Booker scored 28 points and dished out five assists in Phoenix’s 116-109 win over the Portland Trail Blazers Sunday night. D-Book is averaging 30 PPG over his last two games on 50% FG and 48% 3FG, as it looks like he could be breaking out of a mini slump.

Following Kevin Durant’s return to the Suns lineup last game after a four-game absence, Phoenix has won back-to-back games by an average of 7.5 points.

In the loss for Portland, Shaedon Sharpe scored 12 points on 5/15 shooting (1/8 3PT). Although Sharpe is averaging a career-high in 17.0 PTS and 6.1 FG this season, the Blazers are just 8-18 and have lost six games in a row.

Other BBNBA Notes:

  • Brandon Boston Jr. led the New Orleans Pelicans in scoring with 20 points (7-15 FG) off the bench in their 119-104 loss to the Indiana Pacers Sunday night. Boston Jr.’s Pelicans are now just a lowly 5-22, which is the second worst record in the NBA. Antonio Reeves did not play.
  • The Minnesota Timberwolves are officially on a roll, having won their sixth game out of their last seven on Sunday. Julius Randle contributed 11 points as Minnesota rolled past the San Antonio Spurs 106-92. Rob Dillingham played nine minutes but scored just three points for the T-Wolves.
  • Speaking of teams on a roll, the Dallas Mavericks won again on Sunday. Thanks in part to 13 points from P.J. Washington, the Mavs have won 12 of their last 14 games. They held off the Golden State Warriors 143-133.
