BBNBA: Tyrese Maxey puts stamp on first All-Star bid with career-high 51 points
On a night where a whole lot wasnβt happening on the actual floor in the NBA, Tyrese Maxey was far and away the story on Thursday.
With Joel Embiid out due to injury, it was up to the former βCat to will the Philadelphia 76ers to a victory over the Utah Jazz, and he would do that and much more. Maxey scored a career-high 51 points and made the game-winning free throws as the 76ers defeated the Jazz 127-124 in Salt Lake City.
Maxey was one of seven Kentucky Wildcats to be named a 2024 NBA All-Star not long before tipoff. Kentucky (easily) had the most All-Star selections, with Dukeβs two selectees coming in second place.
Does Kentucky run the NBA? Sure seems like it.
