Injuries and Illness have plagued our former Wildcats in the past few days. With an abundance of players sitting out, De’Aaron Fox was able to take hold of headlines with one of his best performances of the year. Let’s dive in.

Fox paces the Kings in one-point defeat

It all went so wrong, so fast for De’Aaron Fox last night in Charlotte. Stepping up to the free-throw line down one point with two seconds left, Fox had the fate of the ballgame in his hands and failed to deliver. Following the foul, Fox had 31 points on the night on 11-17 shooting from the floor. He was easily leading the Kings in scoring, it seemed fitting that he would get the opportunity to finish it. Then this happened.

Fox missed both free throws and went home a loser. I’m sure that’ll go over with the internet while they try to concoct theoretical trade proposals to get him out of Sacramento. Despite last night’s blunder, De’Aaron is still performing at near all-star levels this season. The point guard is still averaging 21 and five assists a night. His shooting numbers are steadily improving following the abysmal start to the season for.

Last night surely will impact Fox, but let’s not act like he wasn’t most of the reason the Kings were even in that game in the end.

Karl-Anthony Towns puts up 21 in loss to Cleveland

Karl Towns and Anthony Edwards suffered through another mediocre shooting night as the Wolves fell 123-106 to the Cavs on Friday. Towns finished with 21 points and seven rebounds, but it came way of 8-19 from the field with an ugly 0-7 mark from deep.

KAT has been not so conspicuously clamoring for anyone to steal him away from Minnesota for quite some time now. The man has been through the absolute ringer in terms of stress and heart-aches while playing for the Wolves. Year after year they continue to put a mediocre product around KAT and Edwards and it’s starting to take a real toll on the superstars mental health.

The league will take notice soon enough and KAT will eventually be saved from the rotting despair that seems to be the Minnesota Timberwolves. First though, somebody get this man some dinner, geez.
