The Kentucky Football Wildcats had a pretty relaxing weekend and got back in to winning form. The same can’t really be said about some of the former ‘Cats playing in the league nowadays, with a couple going down with injury during Week 10 action. Let’s dive in

Josh Allen hangover game

We can all understand the stress and pressure it must’ve been for our boy to come out victorious in the Josh Allen vs. Josh Allen contest last weekend. He went all out last week for the best performance of his career; we can give him the slight leeway of having an average game this time around.

Allen lacked the eye-popping numbers that grabbed him highlights last week, grabbing two tackles and three quarterback hits in the Jaguars’ 17-23 loss to the Colts. Still though, Allen is anchoring a defense that is looking less and less terrible every week. They’ve been somewhat competitive as of recently, which is progress for what we’re used to seeing down in Jacksonville.

Jamin Davis bounces back in upset win

Did Tom Brady throw up an absolute stinker yesterday because of the fear induced by playing Jamin Davis? We may never know.

What we do know is that Davis showed out in a limited sample size. After struggling the past couple of weeks, the former Wildcat was only on the field for 27 snaps in the 29-19 upset over the Bucs. He took full opportunity of the moment though by getting a tackle almost a quarter of the time he was out there.

Washington’s defense took a massive hit yesterday with Chase Young going down for the season. It’ll be interesting where Davis and the Football Team go the rest of the season after the devastating news.

Injury bug came out to play

Two players dealing with nagging injuries all season got hit again on Sunday. Brandin Echols and Bud Dupree both had to leave their games early and have some concern that they may miss some significant time.

Echols was really having a terrible day. He got abused by the other Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs all day and really struggled. He then got hit with a thigh injury that’s going to cost a decent amount of time.

Bud Dupree simply cannot catch a break. After missing four weeks towards the beginning of the season, the one-time Wildcat pass rusher was trying to work back into form. He’s having some overall lackluster performances on the year but that’s in part due to rushing back from a knee injury.

Dupree had to leave the game with an abdomen injury after one play, creating another hurdle for him to get over during this exhausting season. The severity of the injury is unknown as of now, although there’s some optimism floating around that he’ll be okay.

Other notable performances

  • Mike Edwards (TB) had five tackles and a pass defense on 64% of snaps.
  • Corey Peters (AZ) had two tackles on 45% of snaps.
  • Quinton Bohanna (DAL) had two tackles on 31% of snaps.
  • Randall Cobb (GB) had three catches for 21 yards.
