BBNFL Week 14: Cobb scores first TD as a Jet, Levis shines on MNF
Things were supposed to look different in New York this season. Aaron Rodgers called up his boys, including Randall Cobb, and gave his best impression of Dwight Yoakam’s character from Slingblade when he essentially said, “Come on, we’re getting the band back together.”
It only took a single possession before Rodgers tore his Achilles and everyone quickly realized, “We ain’t got no band.”
Without their future Hall of Fame quarterback at the helm, the Jets offense has struggled mightily all season, but Randall Cobb, in true Randall Cobb fashion, has stuck through it. Despite being on and off the inactive list, Cobb made the most of his 13 snaps on Sunday against the Houston Texans, catching a 15-yard crossing route and scooting into the endzone. It was his only reception and only target of the game.
The touchdown was Cobb’s first of the season with this new team. The last time Cobb scored was Week 8 of last season, so it had to feel good for the veteran to find paydirt. Although it came in the 3rd quarter, it marked the first score of the game, and sparked the Jets to 30 points in the half, ultimately defeating the Texans 30-6.
If nothing else, the memes floating around X about the veteran’s touchdown were quality.
Will Levis leads Titans to miraculous comeback on MNF
Will Levis captured the football world on this first Monday Night Football game when he led the Tennessee Titans to one of the most impressive comeback victories in years. Down 27-13 with less than three minutes remaining in the game, Levis orchestrated two extremely efficient touchdown drives and tacked on a two-point conversion to earn an improbable win over the Miami Dolphins, 28-27.
The win marked the first time in the NFL a team came back from a 14-point deficit in the final three minutes of the game since 2016. Since then, teams in this position were 0-767 until Monday when Levis made that 1-767.
KSR dedicated an entire post to the Levis performance, but a few more highlights couldn’t hurt, right?
After the go-ahead touchdown, Levis was a little fired up, and after a composed handshake with head coach Mike Vrabel, he chest-bumped other members of the coaching staff into oblivion. It was a night the NFL was put on notice that the Titans found their franchise quarterback.
Levis has come a long way since gaining national prominence for ruining coffee and eating bananas weirdly.

Wan’Dale Robinson helped team to comeback MNF win as well
In a rare double Monday Night Football showcase, the New York Giants produced their own drama, with former Kentucky wide receiver, Wan’Dale Robinson, playing a key role. He was on the receiving end of a clutch 32-yard pass that put the Giants in field goal range on the game’s final drive, leading to an upset victory over the Green Bay Packers.
Robinson made multiple great catches, including an incredible leaping grab on a flea-flicker play that would set up a Giants score. Robinson finished with 114 total scrimmage yards, including six catches for 79 yards and two rushes for 35 yards.
With Randall Cobb on the verge of retirement, it looks like Kentucky has found its next former Wildcat slot wide receiver to cheer for.
Carrington Valentine made his presence felt on Monday too
He was overshadowed by his former Kentucky teammates, Will Levis and Wan’Dale Robinson, but rookie cornerback, Carrington Valentine, made his presence felt on Monday Night Football as well. After being the source of controversy last week on a pass interference no-call that helped give the Packers the win, Valentine found himself back on prime-time television once again during Week 14.
His biggest play of the game came when he recovered a Saquon Barkley fumble late in the game that, at the moment, looked like it might seal the win for the Packers before Robinson and company embarked upon their comeback triumph.
It was a heads-up play, as almost everyone else on the field thought Barkley was down. That confusion led to a big return, and the Packers scored the go-ahead touchdown on the subsequent possession.
Valentine finished with four tackles, but there was one in particular he looked to be very hyped about. Wan’Dale Robinson caught a short check-down pass and Valentine was right there to make a nice open field tackle on his former Kentucky teammate, holding him to a short four-yard gain.
Afterward, Valentine let Robinson know about it, getting into his face like just made the greatest tackle of all time. It is hard to say if there was some bad blood there or if that was just two old friends going at it, but Valentine had to be restrained by a fellow Packer before a potential taunting call came in.
Ultimately, Robinson got the last laugh with the win.
Other BBNFL Notes:
- Jamin Davis will miss the rest of the season with shoulder surgery after suffering an injury during Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins. The former first-round pick has been the team’s lead linebacker and started all 13 games.
- After getting called up the last two weeks, Quinton Bohanna was not elevated from the practice squad against the Bears. They could have used him, as the Lions lost 28-13.
- Lynn Bowden Jr. brought in four catches, his most of the season, in the Saints’ 28-6 win over the Panthers. He finished with 24 yards and was on the field for a season-high 40 snaps.
