BBNFL Week 4: Josh Allen records yet another sack hat trick
The real Josh Allen kicked off the 2023 NFL season with a sack hat trick and it took him just three weeks to repeat that feat. Allen gave the American Football fans in London a defensive fireworks show at Wembley Stadium, as his Jacksonville Jaguars dominated the Atlanta Falcons 23-7 on Sunday. Allen’s three sacks give him six on the year and a tie for the league lead.
He also had three QB hits, two tackles-for-losses, and a forced fumble. Plus, his post-sack Karate Kid pose was of the utmost quality.
The former Kentucky pass rusher is in a contract year this season and is either looking for a big payday from the Jags, the team that drafted him 7th overall in 2019, or perhaps another team with deep pockets in the market for an elite edge defender.
After the game, Allen portrayed some Ray Davis-level humility, saying “For my performance, I couldn’t do it without the guys in front of me. That process starts in practice.”
One of Allen’s sacks even got the Toy Story reenactment treatment, because evidently, Andy has some pretty aggressive toys playing in his room when he’s not looking.
Multiple former ‘Cats got into the sack column
In addition to Josh Allen, two other former Kentucky players recorded a sack during Week 4 of the NFL season. Mike Edwards for Kansas City, fresh off an interception from last week, got his first sack of the year, while the Falcons’ Bud Dupree sacked Trevor Lawrence in the aforementioned London game.
Edwards and the Chiefs beat up on the suddenly putrid New York Jets sans Aaron Rodgers. The Jets tried some trickery to kickstart their offense, attempting a flea-flicker after being down 17-0 in the first quarter, but it did not fool the veteran Edwards.

Wan’Dale Robinson leads Giants in targets, receptions
Wan’Dale Robinson returned to action last week following his major knee injury, but unfortunately, it was with the New York Giants. Fans in the ever-harsh Big Apple had paper bags on top of their heads by the end of their embarrassing 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.
Robinson hauled in five receptions (tied for the team-high and tops among receivers) for 40 yards and led all teammates with six targets. He also rushed the ball once for seven yards. Only Matt Breida, who was subbing in for the injured Saquan Barkley, had more receiving yards, as Giants quarterback Daniel Jones had to throw primarily checkdowns all night long due to the pressure he was facing.
The Seahawks sacked Jones an incredible 11 times on the night, so the fact Robinson was able to do what he did with limited opportunity is a testament to his ability and the quick trust he earned from the team.
On a side note, based on his Twitter/X mentions, it looks like Wan’Dale Robinson won a lot of people some money on Monday as several people had a prop bet for over 1.5 receptions. Highlight in sports betting is always $20/$20 but this would have been easy money.
