The 2023 Josh Allen bowl took place in London, England, on Sunday as the Buffalo Bills quarterback and Jacksonville Jaguars edge rusher who share the same name did battle for the crown of the better Josh Allen. This round went to Kentucky’s all-time sack leader.

The two last did battle in 2021, where once again the Big Blue version of Josh Allen pulled off the upset. That game saw the first time ever a player sacked someone with the same name. While we did not get a repeat of this feat, the Jags did get the win and Allen remains tied for second in the NFL in sacks.

Overall, it was a fairly quiet week for former Kentucky players in the NFL, with multiple guys falling to their team’s inactive list. Lonnie Johnson Jr., Brandin Echols, Landon Young, and Kelvin Joseph found themselves inactive for the first time all season, joining Chris Rodriguez and Will Levis who have been inactive for multiple weeks. Additionally, the Washington Commanders released Keidron Smith from their practice squad.

On the flip side, Josh Ali was active once again for the Falcons, though he did not see the field. Lynn Bowden was also active for the second week in a row, and although he played nine snaps, they were all run plays resulting in no targets.

Wan’Dale Robinson brought in six catches for the New York Giants’ putrid offense, but they only resulted in 18 yards. Worse yet, Robinson tweaked his knee and could miss practice time this week.

At least Mike Edwards had a good game for Kansas City, so there’s that.
