Bellarmine female athletes secretly recorded in locker room, videos shared online
Here’s an awful story out of Louisville:
According to The Courier-Journal, female athletes from Bellarmine University were unknowingly recorded in a locker room at Limestone College in South Carolina. The videos were recorded from a secret camera sitting on a sink, and show athletes changing clothes and showering. The clips were uploaded to PornHub, one of the internet’s most popular pornography websites, two months ago.
Local police say five different teams of female athletes were filmed in the Gaffney, South Carolina college’s men’s soccer locker room between September 2012 and October 2013.
Officials from Bellarmine had this to say in a statement to the C-J:
“We were recently made aware that, several years ago, a group of Bellarmine student-athletes were filmed without their knowledge or consent in a locker room during an away athletic event at Limestone College. We promptly notified the affected former student-athletes about this distressing incident and made resources available to them.
“We are angry and horrified that our former student-athletes were the victims of this despicable crime.”
The situation is currently under investigation.
