Benny Snell Jr. Suffers Minor Groin Injury in Win against Chiefs
In Benny Snell Jr.’s second preseason game, the former Kentucky running back made several noteworthy plays that hardly left a mark on the box score.
The box score, especially in football, doesn’t always tell the full story as there are too many stats that are not traditionally accounted for.
Against the Chiefs, Snell Jr. carried the ball 7 times for just 16 yards and caught 2 passes for just 5 yards but those pedestrian statistics don’t tell the full story.
On two separate occasions, the Steelers trusted Snell Jr. to convert on 4th & 1, and he was able to convert both.

Unfortunately, Snell Jr. suffered a minor groin injury that could keep him out of the team’s next preseason game.
The timing of the injury is especially disappointing as the 3rd preseason game would have been a great opportunity for Benny to solidify a role in the offense and on special teams.
Hopefully, the injury is as minor as it seems, and Snell Jr. is able to play in Pittsburgh’s 3rd game which is a week from today against the Titans.
