Well it is that time of year again.  The time of year when the UK athletics Department shifts gears into full fundraising mode so that it can by more athletic fieldhouses and practice facilities to make the University of kentucky mildly competitive in the ever-increasing absurd world of college athletics.  A huge part of this effort is the movement of the "Big Blue Caravan", a traveling band of Kentucky coaches, administrators and players, who pull up into a town...shake hands....pose for pictures and leave with millions of dollars.  Sort of like an athletic Paris Hilton appearance in your town.

The Big Blue Caravan has also become a golf outing that continues to grow.  Apparently the "Future" Bobby Perry, one of the best UK basketball player golfers ever, is a fixture at these events....showing off his skills and hobknobing the public.  Reports from the first couple of events have rolled in and suggested that Perry may be the only one on the UK Caravan who is even decent at the sport.

We at KSR Radio hope to meet the Caravan next week and provide a report and some interviews.  In addition, the tournament of greatest UK player begins tomorrow....Get your office pools ready!!!
