Big Blue Madness tickets sold out in 24 minutes

The Big Blue Nation sure is excited to see the new era of Kentucky basketball live and in person.
On Friday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. EST, tickets for the 2024-25 edition of Big Blue Madness went on sale online. According to UK, just 24 minutes later, every single one of the free tickets had been scooped up. Rupp Arena will see a full-capacity crowd of over 20,000 people as Mark Pope and Kenny Brooks show off their first Kentucky teams to the fanbase. For reference, last season’s BBM tickets sold out in 38 minutes.
Big Blue Madness is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 11 at 7:00 p.m. EST. For those who weren’t quick enough to snag some seats, you can watch the entire two-hour event live on the SEC Network.
With both the men’s and women’s teams entering year one under new head coaches, Big Blue Madness will look a bit different than it has over the last 15 seasons. Pope has replaced the entire roster and coaching staff while Brooks brought in 11 new players along with a new staff of his own. But BBM will look different for more reasons than just who is playing on the Rupp Arena floor.

Pope promised us earlier in the offseason that he had something special up his sleeve for the program’s annual preseason extravaganza. So far, he’s coming through. On Wednesday, it was announced that Big Blue Madness will be played on the ASB GlassFloor, which will create a “full LED video sports floor allowing for interactive applications”. This will be the first-ever college basketball event to utilize this new glass floor technology.
This will mark the 19th time that Big Blue Madness takes place at Rupp Arena. It has a chance to be the best one yet.
