Boogie Fland's commitment video includes Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony
Five-star point guard Boogie Fland is a Kentucky Wildcat and the celebration rolls on here at KSR.
If you don’t follow Fland, who picked the Cats over Indiana and Alabama, on Instagram, you might not have seen his commitment video. Shortly after sharing the news with his friends and family at Archbishop Stepinac High School, Kentucky’s future floor general published a video chronicling his journey that starts with two very famous shoutouts. NBA All-Stars Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony tip things off, congratulating Boogie on his commitment.
“Yo, Boog, what up man?” Durant said. “Sending you a message, telling you congrats on your commitment. Hopefully, I’m still in the league when it’s your time to come up here.”
“Want to tell you I love you champ,” Anthony said. “You’ll always be family and this is just the beginning. Congratulations, baby.”

Wild scene at Boogie Fland’s ceremony
We almost didn’t get to see Fland’s ceremony, as the BBN did what the BBN does and broke the live stream in the minutes leading up to 2 p.m. Thankfully, someone worked a miracle and it kicked back on just as Boogie took the mic to thank his family, friends, and coaches.
From there, chaos ensued. Boogie picked up each of the hats on the table before ripping off his jacket to reveal a Kentucky shirt. He added a Kentucky hat and his parents donned their own Kentucky shirts before Boogie ran around the gym to celebrate with his friends, who chanted “Go UK!”.
Awesome. Welcome to the BBN, Boogie.
