Brandin Echols announces 2020 Kentucky football season is his last
Brandin Echols saved the best for his last game.
As expected, the senior cornerback and former JUCO product will not return to Kentucky for another season in 2021. Invited to participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl, Echols has his sights set on the NFL. He thanked the BBN for all of the support Monday afternoon.
Echols was a productive, physical force for two seasons on Brad White’s defense. In 2019 the Southhaven, Ms. native finished fourth on the team in tackles (54) and forced two fumbles. He reached the 54-tackle mark in 2020 with two fewer games.
Arguably the best performance from his career came in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl. He made seven tackles and picked off his first career pass. Unfortunately, friendly-fire from Vito Tisdale forced him to the sideline in the second half, but not before his soccer impression became the talk of the college football world.
